SECURED IDENTIFICATION DEVICE

A new and exciting development in biometric fingerprint technology was previewed at Global Security Asia 5. This innovative product is a Secure Identification Device (SID) for automotive use. SID is a U.S. patent pending after market accessory which uses the latest in biometric fingerprint technology to protect your vehicle from unauthorized used and theft.

SID was invented by Jason Theis and Rob van Gils to bring the security of fingerprint technology to owners of any vehicle at an affordable price.

When SID is fitted to a vehicle only those people whose fingerprints are registered in the system will be able to start and operate the vehicle. Each unit can contain up to 21 authorized fingerprints, as well as an optional PIN code.

The first user registered in the system becomes the system administrator who has complete control of the system and is the only person who can enroll, and delete, users and set or change the optional PIN number. Users can be deleted from the system without them needing to be physically present. When a vehicle fitted with SID is sold the unit can be re-set to 'new' status with all fingerprints and optional PIN code erased thus ensuring security for the new vehicle owner.

"Until now the security of fingerprint technology has only been available on a limited number of expensive vehicles, said Rob van Gils. With SID all vehicle owners can have the security offered by the latest in biometric fingerprint technology at an affordable price. We designed SID in such a way that it can be fitted to any vehicle that uses a fuel and ignition system so that its use is not restricted just to cars, it is equally suitable for trucks, construction machinery, fork lifts etc."

"SID has been designed for easy installation by the end user and, with its user-friendly operation, is simple to set up and operate without needing any special equipment or knowledge."

SID will be released during the fourth quarter of 2005.

SID will be on display at the IDLink systems booth IFSEC 2005
16th - 19th of May 2005,
