The 1st Annual Graffiti Art Competition will celebrate the best Graffiti Art from around the world.
THE FIRST ANNUAL GRAFFITI VERITE' INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART
COMPETITION '97, curated by "Golden Apple Award" and "Gold Eagle Award" Winner,
Filmmaker Bob Bryan (Director/Executive Producer of GRAFFITI VERITE') will be the most
comprehensive Graffiti Art Competition ever held.
The competition will be judged in Los Angeles, California during the month of JULY, 1997.
The INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART COMPETITION '97 was established by Bob Bryan
(President, BRYAN WORLD PRODUCTIONS) to provide a platform for the creative visions of
today's young Independent Artists and to recognize and commemorate their positive contributions
to the world of contemporary art in all its diversity.
The Competition seeks to Educate and Celebrate the artistic expression that has come to be known
Internationally as GRAFFITI ART a.k.a Aerosol Art, Spraycan Art, Graf etc. THE 1997 INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART COMPETITION's sole purpose is to create an forum for the serious
Examination, Illumination, Appreciation and Recognition of this worldwide Artform and
phenomenon.
The time has come! THE INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART COMPETITION '97 is a
fantastic opportunity for Graffiti Artists to enhance their careers and reputations by exposing their
work to a supportive group of peers and art-lovers from around the world, while gaining crucial
media exposure and fostering industry relations.

There will be a Special Awards category for OLD SCHOOL GRAFFITI ART!
The Artwork must predate January 1990 (been created before January 1990) and the Date of the
piece must appear imbedded within the piece (or be authenticated by other means)
Competition Winners will be awarded Beautifully inscribed Trophies as well as receive screen
credit in the New Documentary "The Art of International Graffiti," (produced by Bob Bryan)
which will show their Artwork & indicate their Award Status. Photographs of the artists themselves
are encouraged but not mandatory. Audio/Video Testimonials video-taped by the participating
Graffiti Artists will be integrated into the video.
A Special Catalog / Book will be printed that will show the Award-Winning Artwork and a brief bio
of the Artist. Catalogues / Books will be Awarded to each of the winners along with other prizes to
be announced.
The Artwork voted upon by our team of judges as "Best Graffiti Art" will also be honored by
being included in the Documentary along with other selected works. The name of the selected artists
and their country will be posted under his or her artwork.
The Completed Documentary will be seen by a International Television audience as well as:
The Entrants will have the opportunity to gain World Wide exposure and fame by participating in
this International Event.
Entry Fee: $15.00 US Dollars, Money orders or Cashiers Check, payable to BRYAN WORLD
PRODUCTIONS c/o THE INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART COMPETITION '97. Each
Entry or Video must be accompanied by a completed entry form and entry fees (non-refundable fee
include judging, processing and must accompany each entry. Fees are not refundable for any
reason!)
To be considered all entries must be postmarked by JULY 4, 1997. Early entry is encouraged.
Art work submitted to THE INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART COMPETITION '97 must
originate in the following (Legal) surface mediums:
The Competition will be judged by a Host of Talented Graffiti Artists and respected peers. The
competition will also invite distinguished individuals from the field of Contemporary Art & Film
to serve as impartial judges of the competition.
If you are a GRAFFITI ARTIST (with over 10 years experience) and will be in Los Angeles during
July '97 and would like to be considered as a Judge, please contact Bob Bryan at (213) 860-9845 and

1. Any video submitted must depict the ARTWORK:
Top to Bottom, End to End (full frame).
2. All Video images must be shot on a tripod (no hand held,
shaky-cam stuff)
3. Close Up of details in the ARTWORK are permissible but must
be a steady locked off image (no panning, tilting, rack-
focus or special effects).
4. Video submissions must be made on VHS (NTSC or PAL). The
length of the video should not exceed 15 minutes.
1. Entrants/Artists can submit up to 10 different pieces
(including Video clips). Any more than ten will not be
considered for the COMPETITION.
2. Videos must come in boxes of appropriate size, labeled with
the artist's name, address, telephone number, running time,
whether sound or silent.
3. Shipping: Costs of shipping is covered by the entrant.
Shipping must be prepaid by the Entrant.
4. The artist must verify that they are the creator of the pieces submitted.
5. All Artwork submitted (photos of) must have been created
from January 1990 through Deadline July 4, 1997. The photo
prints must be a regular 3 1/2 x 5 format or larger. The
prints must be in-focus and full frame. Do Not Send Origi
nals, Masters or Special Prints.
6. Negatives and slides are not acceptable.
7. The GRAFFITI ART submitted for the Competition may have been
previously displayed at a Museum or Gallery.
8. Any photographs of tattoos must not show a persons face or
identifiable likeness.
9. If any piece consists of multiple (joining) prints, they
(the prints) must be attached together at the appropriate
seams in the back of the photographs.
10. In the case of a crew submission, the Individual Artists
names comprising the crew must be clearly listed on the back
of each photo (attach a piece of paper).
11. No pornographic Artwork will be acceptable for this
Competition. ILLEGAL ARTWORK will not be accepted.
12. All Video work must be submitted on NTSC or PAL VHS. If you
wish to have your video returned, please enclose a SASE
(Self addressed stamped envelope) with your entry. Please
mark the envelope with the title of your tape.
13. The Competition does not accept 35mm, 8mm or 16mm film of
art.
14. Submitted photo-prints are non returnable and become part of
the Archives of the Competition Curator. Do not send origi
nals or negatives.
15. All ENTRANTS submitting work to the COMPETITION should be
advised that the GRAFFITI VERITE' INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI
ART COMPETITION '97 has the right to include their work in
the upcoming GRAFFITI VERITE' II Documentary that will
feature the work of INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ARTISTS.
16. The Competition is not responsible for the ideas and views
expressed in the submitted work by the artist.
17. The Competition Curator reserves the right to disqualify
work that he deems inappropriate for the Competition.
18. The idea or theme of the piece must accompany each submitted
ART PIECE. (No more that one sentence per description)
19. No photograph can show the name of a company, corporation or address of a person or place
of business.
An entry is defined as 1 to 10 Graffiti Art pieces (single subjects) per application. Entrant can mix
their Categories.

Submission of this entry form implies acceptance of THE INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART
COMPETITION '97 rules and regulations.
We make every effort to handle your entries with the utmost care. However, neither Competition
organizers, sponsors, nor supporting organizations can assume responsibility for damage to, or loss
of material submitted.
The ART COMPETITION assumes no responsibility for the prints or videos submitted. The
Photo Prints will not be returned (so please send only copies - no originals.)
All Winners and accepted work for the Competition and Documentary will be notified by August
1997. Once a piece has been selected, the Competition will correspond with the submitting artist.
All submissions will be reviewed by THE INTERNATIONAL GRAFFITI ART
COMPETITION '97 selection committee. The final selections are at the sole discretion of the
curator.
